Bell & Ross Brand Radio 2013

Picture
This project entailed extracting the interior electrical components of a generic table radio and re-embodying the parts with the styling of another brand. The challenge was to analyse and understand the ways product features can determine the overall feel and branding of a product, and hence design a suitable enclosure to match the key characteristics consistent with the chosen brand.

I chose to design a radio chassis with the branded appearance of Bell & Ross Watches. The brand heritage of Bell & Ross was born out of the aviation industry, and their design philosophy consequently follows notions of visibility, performance and precision. I followed these principles to develop a radio design which captures the brand aesthetic of Bell & Ross, and create a product which fits comfortably within the existing Bell & Ross range.
